ABOUT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! My name is Miguel I attend Murry Bergtraum High for Business and Carriers. As a student in Mr. Elfrank U.S. government class I have learn a wonder of things. Things that I learned because of him made me open my eyes to other things in the world. Today we live in a crazy world and in a country where the government may lie to use because they feel that it is better for our own good. Well in the writing be low I will not and have provide you links if you like and want to further your interest in the certain topic.

As a New Yorker growing up in the big city has its advantages. We tend to see people dress differently all the time. Where and how they dress is a way of them expressing themselves. Fashion is not all that makes a person what they are about an; how they carry themselves and the way a person dresses can be a deadly combinations to some.

In today’s world there is so much money out there it is just amazing.. The fashion industry is a multibillion dollar business and I will like to tell people about some of the things we may or may not know about it. A business where people can be paid thousands of dollars for having their face on a billboard, and where supermodels can get paid millions of dollars a year for walking down a couple of runways and taking a tons of pictures like if its hard.

WHAT ABOUT THE WORKERS

The fashion industry is a big time business with tons of money that comes in each year you would be amazed.

For example Michael Jordan made more money on his 1992 deal with Nike than about 30,000 of the entire work force in Indonesia who make Nike shoes full time(Jordan made 20 million on that deal). 30,000 people that Jordan made more than is pretty incredible being that MJ is only one person. In 1992 they made about only 19 million pair of shoes.

As we know Nike is a big business and they are also the 77th biggest in the USA and 167th in the world. Last year they booked in a staggering 553 million dollars off of their workers I wonder what the workers them self got out of that profit?

Does anyone know why Disney makes soooo muuuccchhh MONEY! Well not only do kids all over the world love their cartoons, but the people who drew them sign away all their rights on the design to the Disney Corporation with their employment contract. ONLY if they knew how much money is being made off of them. One person who did not sign off their rights was someone by the name Michael Eisner's. See now Michael Eisner's makes about 100,000 an hour for his work (to bad for those other guys who signed their rights away.)gets paid as much in one hour as 325,000 Disney workers would earn. The workers in Haiti are the ones who make the Pocahontas, Lion King and Hunchback of Notre Dame T-shirts and pajamas and sew the ears on Mickey Mouse toys. At the N.S. Mart, L.V. Myles and Classic Apparel factories in Haiti Disney workers are trying to bring up a family on a minimum wage of 28 cents an hour.

What does it all mean to you?FASHION!!!!!!!!!!!!

FASHION goes way back you will be surprised at some of the things people used to wear an some of the thing s we wear today and where wwe got them from. How treds started and where fads came to play there is alot to just fashion than looking nice. What does it mean to you?

"Fashion is a term commonly used to describe a style of clothing worn by most of people of a country. A fashion usually remains popular for about 1-3 years and then is replaced by yet another fashion. Even though there are a lot of changes in fashion, most people do not easily except the changes."

A clothing style may be introduced as a fashion, but its use becomes a custom after being handed down from generation to generation. A fashion that comes and goes is called a Fad.
During the mid-1800's, a mass production of clothing was made fashionable and available to more people for lower prices. This encouraged more people to wear more stylish clothes which is why we are wearing what we are today. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fashion

Clothing is made out of all types of matieral such as cotton, rayon, spandex, and polyester, and they are just a few used. Some clothing may even be made of 2 or more different types, this is known as " Blending."

Its really your choice what to wear. What is a normal outfit for you or what are some things you like to wear? whats your outlook?

FASHION FACTS

Did you know that 40 percent of all clothing is sold at full price? Some mark up the prices of clothing so they can later mark them down. As time went on stores gotten a lot smarter and don’t make huge sections of the same model of clothing and as we all know the best deals is when clothes go on sale there you can buy cloth at 80 percent off sometimes. Some stores that sell cloths at these prices are stores like fillens basement, century 21, marshals, and outlets...."Company also sell clothing that are cheaper quality that are made to sell at 50 percent off." said Teri Agins, author of The End of Fashion, has reported on the world of fashion for the Wall Street Journal for 12 years. Notice that we see the dry clean only sign on many different clothes. The sign dry clean only was made for wool suits and winter clothes. We now see the sign on clothes that can be washed at home. Companies are making cheaper clothes, ever heard the saying they don’t make them like this before well it’s pretty true. Before when you wash clothes and they don’t hold up you can return them, now that they have the sign on them that stops all that. Dry cleaners are making more money now then they a couple years ago..
